2 Stylists Told Me Capris Will Be Everywhere This Summer

The rumors are true: Capris are back for summer 2026. After seeing celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Kendall Jenner rock the trend, I want in — so I tapped personal stylists Elizabeth Kosich and Sydney Woy for advice on how to wear it.
“A true capri hits just below the knee to mid-calf, offering the perfect middle ground between shorts and full-length pants,” Woy tells PEOPLE. The summer-friendly pants provide “modest coverage” and are “easy to dress up or down,” making them a smart pick for traveling, running errands, and casual plans.

According to Woy, every summer capsule wardrobe should include a few strong linen pieces. “Linen breathes better than almost any other fabric, keeps you cool, and gets softer with wear,” she tells PEOPLE. She recommends pairing linen capris with other natural fabrics, like a matching button-down shirt and flat leather sandals for “a relaxed, effortless look.”

With their flowy silhouette and trendy print, gingham capris are a smart pick to keep on rotation for summer festivities. But keep in mind that “your shoe becomes the focal point and does a lot of the heavy lifting with a shorter pant,” notes Woy — that’s why she recommends a block- or kitten-heel sandal. “A heel, especially a pointed toe, draws the eye down and creates an elongating illusion. It’s less about dressing up and more about proportion,” she explains.
