Class of 2019

In 2018 I discovered Image Consulting by accident. It was at a night class about dressing the special-sized customer at NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology. As a fashion designer, I saw how petite and plus-sized women were being underserved in fashion and intended to change that with The EveryBody Wrap®. Unbeknownst to me, the class was a pre-requisite to the school’s Image Consulting program and, of a dozen or so students, I was the only one not matriculated. Until the next day.

I was astonished (and thrilled!) to discover the existence of an evidence-based, research-backed degree in the psychology of dressing and, moreover, to learn FIT’s Image Consulting program is the only one of its kind in the world. Simply put, Image Styling is the brain science behind beauty — how it’s perceived, projected and (most importantly) used to persuade. When first impressions are based up to 90% on what others see, not hear, image matters. It takes only a few seconds to win someone over — or not — making personal appearance the most persuasive and powerful tool we have. Period.

Today I am proud to call myself a certified Image Consultant and newly minted alum of NYC’s Fashion Institute of Technology. Watch this space!
