Outerwear AW19

AW19 is all about having a strong outerwear game. From blazers to jackets to coats, make sure it’s a statement. Outerwear can be costly, though, so pick a color, texture and/or pattern that connects to your eyes, skin or hair to make the purchase last. Here are the top 5 on-trend styles this season that are still timeless enough to last forever:

  1. The Belted Blazer
This is a great trend to adopt for both suiting and outerwear this fall. DIY your way to the trend by belting any longer blazer you already have, or choose from the many built-in belted blazers out this season. This trend also works for heavier jackets, so try it with any outerwear piece to stay on trend. Belting at the waist is also a great camouflaging trick that draws the eye to a nipped waist, distracting from other areas you prefer to de-emphasize.

  2. The Moto Jacket
Thankfully this trend is here to stay for yet another season. Easy, chic and flattering, the classic moto jacket is cropped at the natural waist so keeps your proportions in thirds — the optimal formula to flatter any shape. Mix it up from basic black and choose from an array of new colors offered this season to add some pop to your wardrobe. Is will be a great addition!

  3. Anything faux fur
Cozy, chic and animal-friendly, fuzzy jackets and coats remain stylish again this fall season. Choose from printed animal motifs or soft, furry fabrics with volume to get the look, but without the guilt.

  4. The Wrap Coat
A timeless wardrobe staple, the wrap coat is everywhere this season. Not only will it keep you cozy, its all-over monochromatic column elongates the silhouette to achieve a slimming effect — a brilliant trick that balances bulk with lengthening. Just don’t lose the sash belt, please.

  5. The Plaid Coat
Menswear-inspired patterns take center stage this season and, lucky for us, that means oversized plaid coats for fall. I love a good drop-shoulder and this season there are so many gorgeous, oversized plaid options to choose from. Make sure the pattern is to scale with your features, though, otherwise you won’t pull the look off.
